I can’t remember exactly how I was talked into walking the Pennine Way shortly after I left Uni, but I did it. I’m actually very glad I did it – it was what you might call a formative experience.

After the experience of university, to have the opportunity to go on a 270 mile odyssey before launching into work (and then a master’s degree, although I ended up not doing that) was fantastic. To raise money for cancer research was a bonus.

So, tonight, talking about our experiences, reminiscing, and talking about possible future challenges, it makes me feel very good to start talking about the possibility of revisiting the Pennine Way next year. I think that would be a suitable follow up to the challenge that lays before me from a week from tomorrow…
