Ex-artist, amateur photographer, Scout Leader, fan of the outdoors. And fan of the unconventional. That’s pretty much it.
I grew up near Rugby, Warwickshire. I studied at the University of Wolverhampton – my degree is in Fine Art (Artfor Society), or to put it another way, fine art in social context. It’s really about seeing fine art as a social practice, not as something remote, disconnected or somehow beyond society. Fine art is simply another medium, like film, music, community art, ceramics, photography – it’s not something to be revered.
On leaving university, I joined the workforce. I had been given a place to earn my master’s degree, but I found the prospect of earning money full-time too much of a temptation.
So now, several years later (I won’t say how many) here I am. I live in Leicestershire. I’m a Scout Leader. And I’m attempting to reconnect with my ‘creative’ roots.
