Ex-artist, amateur photographer, Scout Leader, fan of the outdoors. And fan of the unconventional.
That’s pretty much it.
I grew up near Rugby, Warwickshire. I studied at the University of Wolverhampton – my degree is in Fine Art (Art for Society), or to put it another way, fine art in social context. It’s really about seeing fine art as a social practice, not as something remote, disconnected or somehow beyond society. Fine art is simply another medium, like film, music, community art, ceramics, photography, it’s not something to be revered.
On leaving university, I joined the workforce. I had been given a place to earn my master’s degree, but I found the prospect of earning money full-time too much of a temptation.
So now, several years later (I won’t say how many) here I am. I live in Leicestershire. I’m a Scout Leader. And I’m attempting to reconnect with my ‘creative’ roots.
